I feel that all legal, court-sanctioned marriages are partnership agreements, so as such should be seen strictly as legal partnerships and referred to as 'civil unions'. Let's allow the churches and religions keep the word 'marriage'. Allow them to perform ceremonies, rites, rituals, sacraments and all of that, if they want to. No religious organization should dictate to a person who to live with or who to love. Who would want to belong to such a cult? Civil unions represent the law as it is intended.
