The main reason for not having 'civil unions' is because it is too difficult to say when talking about it. It's much easier to call it marriage, isn't it?
Personally, I don't care what they call it. I just feel that same-sex couples should be able to fall in love, have sex, and have their relationship recognized by law and have all of the rights and privliges that other legally recognized couples have including the child rearing responsiblities and adoption issues.
